Stamping Ground commission approves paving, pothole repairs and construction contract; snow removal vote splits

The commission authorized awarding the city's parking-lot contract to Mullins Construction and Renovation and voted to authorize Mayor Jennifer Jones to sign the Mullins contract on the condition work starts promptly and is completed by year-end. Commissioner Cody Meadows introduced the proposal and the motion passed 4-0.
A divided vote came on snow-removal services. Commissioner Ken Koger moved and Mayor Jones seconded accepting Hastings Custom Lawnscapes' estimate; Commissioner Cody Meadows voted no, and the motion passed 3-1. No further details about contract term or price were included in the minutes.
On finance matters connected to these projects, the commission also approved a short-term investment: Mayor Jones moved and Commissioner Koger seconded moving $25,000 from savings into a certificate of deposit at People's Bank with the shortest available term; the motion passed 4-0.
The meeting record shows the commission accepted M Bayer Consulting's CPA contract by unanimous vote and scheduled a special meeting for Nov. 8 at 9 a.m. to conduct head-clerk interviews, with the Nov. 13 meeting as backup if needed.
