Stamping Ground approves fire‑station roof and gutter repairs, honors volunteer rescue and accepts grant

The Stamping Ground City Commission voted Sept. 29 to contract Marshall's to repair the Fire Department roof and gutters and to pay a $500 deductible for the gutter repairs from the general fund.
The motion to approve the repairs carried on a 4‑0 vote after Chief Robert Hendricks and City Clerk Michelle Randolph reviewed repair quotes. Commissioner Cody Meadows moved the measure and Commissioner Dale Perry seconded.
Assistant Chief Andrew Tackett and Chief Hendricks recognized volunteer firefighter Jerimah Young for a Sept. 7 response in Louisville. "He and his crew went upstairs and found two victims and got them out with minimal injuries," Tackett said. Mr. Young told the Commission he was glad to take part in the department's trainings in Stamping Ground.
Chief Hendricks told the Commission the department is a recipient of an ASG grant to purchase equipment and credited volunteer Greg Anderson for helping with the lengthy, specific application process. The Chief provided the Commission with a list of equipment the grant will allow the department to purchase; the list was distributed to commissioners but not read into the record in full.
The Commission approved the roof and gutter repairs and the $500 deductible on a 4‑0 vote. No timetable for completion was specified in the meeting minutes. The department left the meeting to return to training.
The Commission adjourned at 7:40 p.m.; the minutes from this meeting will be considered for approval at the Oct. 9, 2025 meeting.
