Board unanimously accepts controller and IMG reports, approves personnel items and awards track contract to Laser Industries

The South Country Central School District Board voted unanimously to accept two oversight documents and approve several consent items and a capital contract during its public meeting.

Administration recommended approval of the New York State controller's report (B626, dated 04/10/2026); Trustee De Lillo moved to accept the report and Trustee Felicero seconded. "Do I have a motion to accept said report?" the Chair asked; the board voted unanimous in favor.

The administration also recommended approval of the Investigative Management Group (IMG) forensic audit report dated 07/02/2026. Trustee Delillo moved and Trustee Felicero seconded; the board again voted unanimously to accept the report.

On the personnel consent agenda, administration recommended approval of items E1 through E4. The motion to approve was made and seconded; the board approved the personnel items unanimously.

Under the business consent agenda, the board considered an owner contract agreement with Laser Industries to perform track renovations at the high school. Trustees asked about safeguards to keep the project within budget. A district staff member explained the project follows a design and public‑bid process and described contract safeguards, including awarding to the lowest responsible vendor and including a $10,000 allowance for unforeseen contingencies that remains the district's money unless used in a change order. "By putting the contingency in the contract, we kind of look to cover ourselves a little bit," the staff member said. The motion to accept the contract carried by unanimous vote.
