The Ranlo Town Council administered the oath of office to Whitney Perez, who was sworn in as a police officer during the meeting.
"I, Whitney Perez... do solemnly swear that I will support the constitution of The United States... and that I will faithfully and impartially execute the duties of my office," Perez recited as part of the formal oath. Council members and family in attendance offered congratulations.
The council also recognized Kevin Jones for 10 years of service. A town official introduced Jones’s record, noting he began service about 10 years ago, worked his way up to sergeant and was a training officer. Speakers praised Jones’s job performance and noted his growing family.
