The City Commission of the City of Auburndale on July 6 gave tentative approval to the revenue section of the proposed Fiscal Year 2027 and Fiscal Year 2028 budgets.
City Manager Jeffrey Brown presented the revenue figures, telling commissioners that revenues were presented as plus or minus $10,000 from the prior year. After no public comment, Commissioner Travis Avery moved, and Commissioner Crystal Tijerina seconded, to give tentative approval of the revenue section; the motion passed unanimously.
Vice Mayor Jordan Helms praised the presentation and emphasized that, despite substantial utility and infrastructure spending to support growth, the city has not increased the millage rate and is attempting to manage costs to serve residents. The commission next outlined key dates for the budget approval process.
