Perry Park board reviews entryway project after Conservancy flags new bench

The Perry Park Metropolitan District board addressed a Douglas Land Conservancy violation notice over a new entryway pond bench and reviewed progress on the wider entryway project at its May 14 meeting.
During public comment, resident Jill Arthurs read a letter from Jennifer Kaufman (absent) that raised concerns about the Conservancy notice, a perceived lack of Entry Committee input and whether the bench complies with Board-approved design guidelines. Resident Layne Vinton told the Board she followed the Board's direction and the approved design process and asked to be kept informed as the review proceeds.
Director Kirk H. Mulbach said the District has issued a request for proposals for the entryway project to five contractors and discussed the mandatory walkthrough and bid due date. At the same time, the Board clarified that approvals may be required from Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Douglas Land Conservancy. Director Keith A. Worley said the bench will remain in place while the Conservancy and other agencies complete their review.
The Board asked District Management to keep involved residents notified and to coordinate next steps; no formal removal or enforcement action was taken at the meeting. The discussion was placed alongside ongoing procurement work on the broader entryway project, which the Board is advancing through a competitive bid process.
