West Point Public Schools board accepts two resignations, approves classified raises and K–8 curriculum purchase

President Steve Blocher called the West Point Public Schools Board of Education to order at 6:30 p.m. on Feb. 9. The board approved its agenda and consent items before turning to personnel and expenditure votes.
The board accepted the resignations of Douglas Glackin and Hailey Hasenkamp, each effective at the completion of the 2025–26 school year. Herb Hasenkamp moved to accept Glackin’s resignation; Holly Hunke seconded. Eric Brockmann moved to accept Hailey Hasenkamp’s resignation; Eunice Ramirez seconded. All motions carried on unanimous votes.
In a separate personnel action, board member Eunice Ramirez moved to set classified staff raises for the 2026–27 school year “not to exceed $120,000” in total; Herb Hasenkamp seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. The board did not specify how the $120,000 ceiling will be allocated among individual employees in the motion.
The board also approved the purchase of a K–8 language arts curriculum from Amplify Education, Inc., in the amount of $152,438.86. Holly Hunke moved the purchase and Steve Hughes seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
Votes at a glance: all formal motions recorded at the Feb. 9 meeting passed unanimously with the following members recorded as voting yea — Steve Blocher, Eric Brockmann, Herb Hasenkamp, Steve Hughes, Holly Hunke and Eunice Ramirez.
