Deputy town manager says composting framework and work plan will go to select board; Public Works to lead in-house analysis

Meghan Sudo, deputy town manager, gave a brief update on composting during the July 13 Climate Action Committee meeting.
Sudo said the select board asked for a framework and work plan before the town advances any composting implementation. "We are planning to discuss this topic with the select board at 1 of their August meetings," she said, and added that the in-house analysis will be performed by Concord Public Works staff with the town manager and acting Public Works director coordinating scope and potential temporary funding.
Sudo said a draft scope of work is in development and will be reviewed with Public Works prior to the select board conversation. She also said staff will keep interested committees updated once the select board discussion occurs. The committee did not take further formal action at the meeting; staff said more information would follow after the select board conversation.
