Main Street report: pocket park restrooms open, events steady; staff and promotions expanding

Jordan said the restrooms being open allowed Main Street to host a night market and a concert, and those events, along with a recent car show and the cheese drop, drew steady attendance.
Jordan told the board the organization had added a part‑time staff person to support the farmers market and said the holiday retail promotion will start Nov. 1 with about 45 participating businesses. Jordan also reported recent changes in board membership and said they are serving on the city steering committee for the comprehensive plan update.
Board members commended Main Street’s work. Jordan noted some storefront turnover — a lease signed on a South Side property and a new business (Beyond Crafty) opening on a southwest corner — and said Main Street is evaluating a pop‑up shop program for next year.
