Council approves one-year conditional use permit for shared offices at 12644 Chapel Road

The Clifton Town Council approved a Planning Commission recommendation Nov. 2 to issue a one-year conditional use permit allowing shared office use at 12644 Chapel Road, Suite 203, for LCS Property Services and OnPoint Construction Services. The Planning Commission recommended conditions including allocation of four parking spaces for the 773-square-foot shared space, off-site parking for construction trailers, and weekday hours (Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–8 p.m.). Mayor Bill Hollaway moved to accept the commissionrecommendation; the motion passed by poll, 5-0.
The Planning Commission noted the parking lot for the property was not typically full, that the property owner plans to restripe and resurface the lot to create additional spaces, and that the permit would be issued for one year pending availability of four parking spaces. The commission also noted that BPOL (Business, Professional and Occupational License) taxes would need to be paid by each company occupying the space.
Councilmembers did not amend the Planning Commission conditions when they voted. The Council recorded the approval by poll; the motion carried 5-0. The clerk will reflect the conditional use permit and attached conditions in the adopted meeting minutes.
