Clifton council approves Pink House lease amendment, legal payment and temporary sign purchase

The Clifton Town Council on Dec. 7 approved a proposed amendment to the lease for the Pink House rear building and approved several small expenditures and authorizations.
By a 6-0 vote, the Council approved a lease amendment with rent under the amendment reduced to $1,300 per month for a one-year term ending Dec. 31, 2022, with no automatic renewal. The motion was made by Mayor William R. Hollaway and seconded by Councilmember Darrell Poe.
The Council also authorized payment of $1,950 to Maureen Gilmore for legal services for November (approved by roll call) and approved up to $500 to purchase and install temporary signage for the Wayne H. Nickum Clifton Town Hall due to supply-chain delays for permanent lettering.
The meeting packet included a lease addendum draft for Premises 7137-B Main Street that, in its draft text, sets rent at $1,400 per month starting Jan. 1, 2022, and adds Rios Partners, LLC as an additional lessee. That draft appears alongside the Council motion that set rent at $1,300; the packet draft therefore differs from the motion approved in the meeting. The Council motion and the meeting record govern the Council's action; staff should ensure the executed lease addendum matches the approved terms.
No further amendments or funding for additional Town projects were authorized at this item. The Council adjourned at 9:32 p.m.
