Town Manager O'Keefe reported the town continues to see problems with the performance of the current trash‑collection contract. O'Keefe said he had met with Brookfield about a separate recreational license and that, because of ongoing collection failures, the town is "very close to possibly taking a look at the contract and see what our options are." The manager did not specify a timetable or particular contract remedies at the meeting.
Department updates from public‑works staff described frequent collection activity on Hancock Street (daily or every other day) to keep the area clean and provided spring‑cleanup volumes (94 loads of trash, 43 loads of wood, 40 loads of metal, 18 loads of tires, 10 loads of brush and 12 TVs). The board did not vote on immediate contract action during the meeting; staff said they would continue monitoring performance and consider options for formal contract review.
