Pam Yancey, representing the Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, CVB and Taney County Partnership, presented an 11‑item set of local priorities focused on streamlining planning, guaranteeing review timelines, fast‑track approvals for repeat plans, and regulatory adjustments to support attainable housing. Yancey said the chamber consulted developers and builders and intends to work with city staff to present practical solutions rather than a complaint list.
Aldermen thanked the chamber for convening developers and said staff and elected officials should partner to translate suggestions into actionable code or process changes. City Administrator Kathy and other staff stressed the need for transparent, competitive procurement and pointed to internal documents and existing capital planning processes already in place. Alderman Schultz proposed a formal rolling seven‑year capital plan to prioritize large projects, project funding and debt capacity, and to align the comprehensive plan with the annual budget.
Staff told the board the city maintains departmental multi‑year capital projections and that a digestible, consolidated seven‑year “mosaic” could be prepared for aldermen and public review. The board discussed timing and workload and agreed staff should advance the work in parallel with the 2027 budget process and bring a prioritized draft for review in the coming months.
