The Martin County Board of Education approved the annual memorandum of understanding with the Martin County Sheriff’s Office to provide eight full-time school resource officers for district schools and added the early college to the agreement.
A presenter told the board the MOU is essentially unchanged from previous years except for the inclusion of the early college school; the sheriff's office provides eight full-time SROs and the district reimburses the sheriff’s office per the agreement. A board member moved and seconded approval, and Chair Purvis declared the motion carried by voice vote.
The vote completes the district’s yearly SRO agreement process; no changes to staffing levels were reported.
