Beachwood Mayor and Council on June 17 approved multiple personnel appointments and related actions. Mayor William J. Cairns administered the oath of office to Joseph Terrana as a Class IV member of the Land Use Board. Council also adopted a resolution appointing Brian C. Davidson as a volunteer firefighter for Beachwood Volunteer Fire Company #1 pending background checks and state association acceptance (Resolution 2026-181).
The council authorized the full‑time appointment of two police officers — Austin Dinklage and Vincent Pedone — each to a first‑year pay scale of $60,299.00 effective May 28, 2026 (Resolutions 2026-182 and 2026-183). The resolutions reference prior temporary appointments and PTC waivers of training that permitted full-time appointment without the standard entry examination under N.J.S.A. 11A:4-1.3.
Separately, council accepted the resignation of a seasonal roads-division laborer (employee #093551) and directed DPW Director TJ Wrocklage to repost the vacancy for the Roads Division (Resolution 2026-189). Council also authorized purchase of one 2026 Dodge Durango Pursuit AWD for $44,872.00 to replace a totaled patrol vehicle, using an insurance payment (claim 2026391996) as the funding source (Resolution 2026-187).
Municipal officials noted that personnel appointments and equipment purchases were approved as routine municipal business and that necessary background checks and state filings remain outstanding where applicable.
