Superintendent reports increased food distribution, staffing notes and plans to begin streaming meetings

During the July 8, 2026 Mason Consolidated Schools Board of Education meeting, the Superintendent delivered the report on celebrations, community engagement, personnel and operations.
On community support, the Superintendent said the district's food distribution “continues to support more kiddos each week,” adding that “Today, alone, we served 100 more kiddos than last week.” The Superintendent thanked “the hard-working ladies and volunteers who are working each week to prepare and distribute to support kids.”
The report included a response to a public-question about the employment of an individual staff member; the district said it follows applicable provisions of the Michigan Revised School Code, including Section 1236. The Superintendent also described the district's approach to team-teaching and co-teaching, noting that at times Focus classes included up to three staff members and that staff such as Ms. Radant and Ms. Malik have taught team-taught periods in the past.
The board accepted the resignation of Lori Manley, CES teacher, and the minutes describe Manley as a long-serving educator who “impacted many generations” of students. On operations, the Superintendent said the district will begin streaming Board of Education meetings in the fall after the library is equipped with the necessary equipment.
