City’s contracted grant team reports $7M+ in awards and outlines pending opportunities

Samantha D'Ambrosio, a grant specialist with California Consulting, gave an overview of the firm’s ongoing work for Parlier during the council meeting on July 16. She said the consultant team has submitted 36 applications for the city, with 29 successful awards that together total over $7 million in funding for projects ranging from housing to hazard mitigation and public‑safety equipment.
D'Ambrosio outlined current and near‑term grant efforts the firm is supporting, including DOJ tobacco and cannabis‑related grant programs, an almost‑complete COPS hiring grant, planning for the statewide parks program, Firehouse Subs equipment grants and opioid settlement fund opportunities. She described a standing monthly coordination meeting between California Consulting and city staff to manage applications, award administration and follow‑up reporting.
Council members asked about specific funding targets such as pool or community center repairs, animal shelter support and public‑safety equipment; D'Ambrosio said the team is preparing applications consistent with released guidelines and will return as deadlines and program rules firm up.
