The Prince George County School Board unanimously approved several formal actions at its Feb. 10 meeting, including creating a process to add a student representative to the board for the 2025–26 school year and executing an adult education memorandum of understanding that will run from 2025 through 2030.
Superintendent Dr. Lyle asked the board to authorize the student‑representative process and to sign the adult‑education MOU. The board voted to move both items to action, then approved them by roll call. Chair Robert Ealy announced the votes; the clerk recorded all members as voting "Yes."
Board members discussed the student‑representative plan in brief before the vote. Dr. Lyle said the position would be a leadership opportunity and noted staff recommendations and parental commitments will be required. Mr. McAllister told the board he expected student government participation and would support recruitment.
On the adult education MOU, Dr. Lyle described the MOU as a renewal of an existing agreement and asked for authority to execute the document for the 2025–2030 period. The motion passed on a roll‑call vote with all present members recorded as "Yes."
The board also returned to several personnel items that were certified from closed session and approved employment recommendations, resignations and part‑time arrangements. The meeting record shows repeated roll‑call approvals for personnel matters presented by staff; the board later voted to appoint a chief financial officer following closed‑session actions.
The meeting concluded with routine adjournment. The board will revisit items that were left for a subsequent closed session and expects to report back as required by law.
