Staff reports landmarks actions and recent County Council zoning bills to Planning Board
Summary
Staff reported that the Landmarks Preservation Commission issued seven certificates of appropriateness and added two properties to the preliminary landmarks list; staff also summarized recent County Council legislation on BM zone warehouse conditions, food truck rules, Honeygo design-review designation changes, and the Harmony Garden PUD review resolution.
At the July 16 meeting staff briefed the Planning Board on recent Landmarks Preservation Commission actions and County Council legislation.
Landmarks: staff reported the LPC voted July 9 to issue seven certificates of appropriateness for properties at identified addresses and to add two properties (the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows building in Upper Falls and the Eden Dairy McCullough Johnson Farm in Parkton) to the preliminary landmarks list.
County Council legislation: staff summarized several enacted bills and a resolution: Bill 62-26 (adds permissible use conditions for warehouses in the Business Major (BM) zone), Bill 65-26 (amends food-truck definitions and establishes proximity standards and related regulations), Bill 66-26 (repeals the Honeygo Gateway Commercial Revitalization District designation as a design-review area for residential development), and Resolution 16-26 (approves review of the proposed Harmony Garden planned-unit development, including a capital-improvement benefit to local schools). Staff noted the Harmony Garden proposal details (developer, acreage, unit types and a $40,000 capital improvement benefit to local schools) as reported to the board.
These summaries were presented as informational reports; no action by the Planning Board was taken at the July 16 meeting on these items.
