Superintendent reports PowerSchool-to-Infinite Campus transition; principal reports testing, intercom quote and events

Superintendent Larry Sebastian reported to the board that the district plans to end its use of PowerSchool on June 30, 2026 and begin using Infinite Campus on July 1, 2026. Staff are working to clean up PowerSchool data to prepare for the migration.
Sebastian said the district’s wireless system contract recently ended; the district signed a one-year renewal while exploring options to move to a non-contract system. He also said summer Driver’s Education signups are out and that he and staff have met with multiple schools via videoconference to research participation in the Carl Perkins career and technical education program. Sebastian asked the board for input on replacing stage curtains.
K–12 Principal RobbiJo Morgan told the board that students in grades K–10 were STAR testing that week. She reported that vendor Forte repaired the intercom and will provide a quote for a replacement card or a combined card/phone solution. Morgan described the Jan. 19 in-service focusing on tiered instruction and behavior‑specific praise, and noted senior week activities held Jan. 12. She said the school spelling bee for grades K–8 is scheduled Jan. 23, with top winners in grades 6–8 advancing to the county spelling bee in Washburn.
No formal board action was recorded on the systems transition, the wireless contract or stage curtains at this meeting; these were reported as administrative updates and items for future consideration.
