Visitor authorized to start east-side tree clearing; will research National Guard partnership

Norval Semchenko addressed the board and said he had identified the National Guard as a possible training partner that could assist with removal "so it would be no cost to the school district and using tax payers' dollars." The board moved and approved a motion giving Semchenko permission to start clearing and to coordinate with the National Guard; the motion carried 5-0.
Semchenko said he would do additional research, including whether the city has room at the landfill to accept the trees and how disposal would be handled. The board's authorization allows Semchenko to begin initial clearing and to pursue coordination; it does not constitute confirmation that the National Guard will participate.
The board asked for follow-up details and coordination to be reported at a future meeting or as part of administrative updates.
