Pat Kiley presented the Board with a final update on the town’s Hazard Mitigation Plan and said public input is complete and the plan is officially posted on the town website.
Kiley stated that the plan’s approval makes the town eligible to apply for FEMA hazard mitigation grants; she noted that those grant opportunities typically appear around February each year. Selectman Jay DeRoche said he reviewed the plan and expressed satisfaction with the finished product. Kiley described the plan as technical and fully funded during its development.
The board took no separate motion on grant applications at the meeting; Kiley’s presentation establishes the plan as the town’s guiding document for mitigation projects and grant applications moving forward. Town staff and relevant committees will be positioned to pursue FEMA funding when grant cycles open.
