Camden County elections board approves advance in-person voting schedule for May primary

The Camden County Board of Elections & Registration on March 19 unanimously approved the advance in-person voting schedule for the May 19 general primary. The motion to approve was made by Vernon Higgins and seconded by Joe Stell.
The approved schedule opens Kingsland for all three weeks and two Saturdays; Woodbine from April 27 through May 9 including both Saturdays; and the St. Marys Welcome Center from May 9 through May 15 with one Saturday. Weekday hours for the first two weeks are 8 a.m.–5 p.m., Saturdays 9 a.m.–5 p.m., and the final week 8 a.m.–6 p.m.
Chair Julia McCollough said staff based the hours on historical foot traffic at each advanced polling location. Acting Elections Supervisor Rockney Carter reviewed the plan and staff recommended it as a viable solution for Camden County residents. No board member opposed the schedule and the motion carried unanimously.
The board’s approval means staff will place required legal notices and finalize logistics for staffing and equipment at the three advanced polling sites. The board also noted upcoming poll worker training and asked the public to consult the elections office or county website for specific polling-place assignments and volunteer opportunities.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for April 16 at 4 p.m.
