Following the Sept. 3 executive session, Chairman Charles Coffey asked the Commission to amend the agenda to allow an advice-and-consent vote for a director-level hiring. Commissioner Jason Frost moved to amend the agenda and to give the County Manager advice and consent to hire a recommended candidate; Commissioner Timothy Biddle seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Chairman Coffey asked that the County Manager make the new hire’s name public at the next regular meeting. The minutes record that the Commission treated the personnel discussion as falling within open‑meetings exceptions and that no votes were taken during closed session; the advice-and-consent vote occurred in public after reconvening.
