"This is our proposal tonight for a total of 33 seats," the superintendent said, noting that the district tracks patterns where families commonly apply for entry (kindergarten, sixth and ninth grades).
Committee members asked whether exceptions would be made for families with multiple children; the administration said each child must apply and seats are allocated per student. The committee then moved, seconded and voted aye to accept the recommended numbers.
The administration said the proposal was developed to balance school-choice opportunities with class-size and operational constraints, and that the district remains within recommended class-size ranges under the current policy. The committee will publish the choice openings and application process as part of standard enrollment communications.
