The Rockport School Committee voted to approve routine minutes, accept an updated job description for the position transitioning from Martha Robinson to Anne Marie Lester, and approve an 8th-grade educational trip to Washington, D.C., at its Sept. 18 meeting.
Chair Kathy Riley asked members if they had read the Sept. 4 minutes; the minutes were moved and seconded and approved by voice vote. Superintendent Mark Branko announced personnel hires: Michael Castellucci (crossing guard), Jennifer Estrada (elementary paraprofessional) and Emily Clorindo Faria (school nutrition worker), welcoming them to Rockport Public Schools. A motion to accept the revised job description was moved by Amy Oakes, seconded and approved by voice vote. The committee also approved the 8th-grade Washington, D.C. itinerary as presented and confirmed the district’s intention that no student be barred from participation for financial reasons. The meeting concluded with an adjournment vote.
