The Rockport School Committee voted on routine procedural items during its Jan. 20 meeting, approving minutes from the Jan. 8 meeting and adopting the 2025–26 academic calendar as presented.
During the academic‑calendar discussion, the committee confirmed the district’s break and half‑day schedule and members voiced support before a motion to adopt the calendar carried with “aye” votes. Chair Kathy Riley noted the early timing of graduation dates and encouraged committee members and the public to review the calendar and raise questions before the school year.
Later in the meeting the committee moved to enter executive session to discuss personnel matters — specifically reputation, character, physical or mental health and complaints or dismissal of a public employee — and voted by roll call to adjourn to executive session and not to reconvene in open session. The roll call recorded yes votes from Riley, Lorenz, Alter and Delisi.
The meeting also included administrative confirmations that there were no donations or correspondence to report and no personnel updates at this time. The committee expects a public budget presentation and vote on Feb. 5.
