Courtney Meeks chosen park board president; Kimberly Moore named vice president

Courtney Meeks will become president of the City of Pacific Park Park Board beginning with the board’s first meeting of the fiscal year in June, and Kimberly Moore will serve as vice president, the board decided at its May 11 meeting.
The outgoing president opened nominations for the 2026–27 fiscal year and members nominated Ryan Schecker and Courtney Meeks for president. Meeks accepted the nomination. The board used a show-of-hands vote to select the president for the coming year; the chair announced that Meeks will preside starting in June. For vice president, members nominated Kimberly Moore; that nomination carried.
The vote procedure was conducted by show of hands rather than a roll-call tally. Nominations were moved and seconded on the floor; members who spoke indicated support for continuity and for welcoming new board members. The new officers will take office at the board’s June meeting, the chair said.
The board then moved to substantive agenda items, including a proposed change to pool pricing and several project and maintenance items.
