Ungaro described a configuration that would route school traffic through the Football Park, continue to the end of the parking area, then proceed along a 600‑ft gravel drive that would punch through a hedgerow and follow the perimeter of the upper cemetery. He told the council the plan could increase stacking capacity to as many as 98 cars compared with the current estimate of 91. Council Member Kay Brumbelow asked how quickly the project could be completed; Ungaro said he could possibly complete it by Christmas but gave no firm guarantee. The council asked Ungaro to speak with Liberty Tech and report back with estimated costs and a potential completion date.
Separately, the council heard that acquisition of a small strip of land at the northeast corner of the GA‑85/Hwy 85 Connector intersection has cleared another hurdle needed to accommodate a right‑turn/acceleration lane for a planned traffic signal at that intersection.
Why it matters: The proposals address local traffic congestion around a school and signal improvements on a busy corridor. The manager will return with feasibility, cost and schedule information for council consideration.
