Project manager Matt Flynn described a safe‑systems approach centered on safe road users, safe vehicles, safe speeds, post‑crash care and safe roads, and outlined potential FHWA and GDOT countermeasures such as speed‑management, intersection design and improved pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure. Flynn said the team will produce a Safety Action Plan and a list of candidate projects, policies and programs for implementation.
Flynn announced an initial public meeting at the Fayette County Library on Aug. 27 and encouraged residents to take the online survey and to mark safety concerns on the project’s interactive map at https://planningatpond.com/fayette_ss4a.
