Boys and Girls Club to leave Lake Station; district searching for aftercare options and schedules community event

She said the district will confirm arrangements and communicate times and provider details to families once contracts are finalized.
The superintendent also announced a Community Action Day/back-to-school event at Riverview Park on Saturday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., intended to support families preparing for the new school year. Board members thanked staff and welcomed new hires during closing remarks; a board member noted this was Superintendent Pippa’s first meeting hosting as superintendent.
District officials did not provide a timetable for securing a replacement aftercare provider during the meeting; details remain under development and will be shared with families when available.
