The Lower Heidelberg Township Planning Commission on Aug. 12 approved its prior meeting minutes, recommended a waiver for PA American Water Company to avoid the full land-development process for a small chemical storage shed, and tabled the Thun Property final plan for lack of applicant representation.
Dean Hartman, chair, moved to approve the May 2024 minutes; William Moser, member, seconded and the commission voted unanimously to adopt the minutes. The action was procedural and concluded without further debate.
PA American Water Company presented a request to waive the township's land-development review for construction of a small chemical storage shed. Meeting notes state the project "technically fits under land development," but that the proposal is limited in scale and does not change or expand the property's use. Hartman moved to recommend granting the waiver; Heath Kearney, member, seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The commission considered the Thun Property final plan application but tabled the item after noting that no representative from the applicant was present. The commission indicated the Thun Property matter will be addressed at the September meeting.
Forrest Stricker, member, moved to adjourn the meeting; the motion carried by acclamation and the commission adjourned at 7:54 p.m. The meeting record lists attendance and township staff and advisors present.
