Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb told Winter Harbor Selectmen on March 9 that work continues on three grant applications and announced a community meeting for Wednesday, March 11 at 6 p.m. She said the town again secured a Cole Transportation matching grant to buy flags for telephone poles in celebration of the nation’s 250th birthday.
Liscomb also said a budget meeting was lost due to an internet outage and a snowstorm; that meeting will be rescheduled and the full budget presented at the next scheduled meeting. Selectman P. Boeshane said the Budget Committee meeting location was moved to the chartroom at Misty Harbor because acoustics in the Masonic Hall made hearing difficult for some members. When asked why the Town Office room was not used, P. Drinkwater commented there were "listening ears."
In department updates, Fire Chief and Road Commissioner R. Chandler reported that new benches are complete and will be installed when snow melts and that contracted work by J. E. Tracey to repair the dock will begin on March 10.
During public comment, resident S. Ribble asked that links to area services be added to the town website. Resident Jackie Jacobs asked whether the investment account had lost money; the transcript records the question but does not include an answer or further clarification.
The meeting included routine FYI items: the investment statement, a letter from the Historical Society, a Schoodic EMS report and a Budget Committee ordinance. The meeting adjourned at 7:24 p.m.
