Winter Harbor Selectmen on March 9 approved routine minutes and warrants, accepted the town’s treasurer and tax collector reports and moved on a set of appointments and a five-year disposal contract.
The board voted 3-0 to approve the Selectmen meeting minutes of Feb. 9, 2026, and to adopt Warrants #41 (March 3) and #42 (March 6). The Treasurer’s Report dated March 6, 2026, was accepted 3-0 after the town manager noted and corrected a typographical error in the investment-account entry. The Tax Collector’s Report dated March 6 was also accepted 3-0; the town manager said all fiscal year 2024 taxes were paid ahead of the foreclosure deadline.
In appointments, the board voted 3-0 to appoint Polly Earl, Wayne Martin, Jean Robertson, Ruth Littlefield and Jackie Jacobs to the Budget Committee. Also by a 3-0 vote the Selectmen accepted the five-year pickup contract presented by John Harris of Harris Downeast Disposal "as written." The transcript does not provide contract dollar amounts or other commercial details.
Financial figures presented at the meeting showed a general ledger balance of $828,829.46 (as of March 6, 2026), a six-month certificate of deposit of $107,539.29, and bond investment values listed in the packet. The posted payroll and accounts payable totals showed P/R #41 at $16,253.42 and A/P #42 at $118,663.18, for a combined total of $134,916.60.
