Commission hears retail aisle complaint, hotel bed‑height subcommittee update and AdLib program status

During the community accessibility portion of the Jan. 15 meeting, commissioners discussed several local issues. June Hailer said there will be a subcommittee meeting later in the month to address hotel bed heights. The commission also received an update that a building inspector visited Burlington Coat Factory after a complaint about aisle width and crowding; the store is considering reconfiguring movable racks to improve accessibility.
Valerie Pease provided an update on AdLib activities, saying the personal care attendant (PCA) program remains uncertain and that the organization continues to work on transportation projects, emergency planning, distribution of preparedness kits, and housing workshops held Thursdays from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. that include housing application review and other resources.
