Doniphan-Trumbull Board adopts handbooks, safety plan and policy updates; reviews bond and facility planning

At its July 13, 2026 meeting the Doniphan-Trumbull Board of Education approved several district handbooks and policy updates, adopted an updated Safety & Security Plan and reviewed options for future facilities financing.
The Board approved the Doniphan-Trumbull Parent-Student Handbook, Classified Staff Handbook and Certified Teacher Handbook for the 2026–27 school year. Motions to adopt each handbook carried unanimously. The Board also approved the updated Safety & Security Plan as presented; no public comments on the plan were recorded.
Board members approved the second reading of recommended policy updates — revisions, rescindings and additions intended to comply with new legislation and legal-counsel guidance. A separate first reading of suggested updates to Board Policy 3130 (Purchasing) was noted as included in the packet; no separate action was taken on the first reading.
On facilities planning, the Board reviewed information on projected bond resolutions for potential projects and discussed master facility planning. The board requested additional information from Northland Securities to evaluate bond options and next steps; no bond resolution was adopted at this meeting.
