At its Feb. 12 meeting the Doniphan-Trumbull Public Schools Board of Education accepted the resignation of Joy Utecht, secondary English and language arts teacher, effective at the end of the 2025–2026 school year.
The board approved the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 negotiated agreements with the Doniphan-Trumbull Education Association (listed as D-TEA in the minutes). The board also approved the Superintendent's goals for 2026.
On compensation, the board authorized up to a 4.22% increase in total compensation and benefits for classified personnel for the 2026–2027 school year; the motion passed with one recorded abstention by Zach VanDiest (noted as "Without Conflict"). The board separately approved contracts for elementary, secondary and special education administration for 2026–2027 with up to a 4.22% increase in compensation and benefits.
The board also approved expansion of the Skilled & Technical Sciences pathway to add an additional staff member to support increased pathway offerings.
All motions were moved and seconded as recorded in the minutes and carried by roll-call votes as noted. The minutes do not include contract-level details or salary schedules; follow-up documents (labor agreements and individual contracts) are expected to contain the negotiated specifics.
Next steps include personnel processing for the resignation and hire, finalizing negotiated agreement documentation, and implementing the pay changes during the 2026–2027 compensation cycle.
