Doniphan-Trumbull board approves security upgrades, curriculum and facility contracts

The Doniphan-Trumbull Public Schools Board of Education on Feb. 12 approved multiple vendor contracts for campus security, instructional materials and facility improvements.

The largest single contract approved was a $53,550 purchase, installation and assembly of classroom furniture from Cardinal Construction for seven classrooms; Board member Beau Toben recorded an abstention (noted as "Without Conflict") while the other members voted yes. The board also approved a Communication Engineering Inc. proposal to install cameras, intercoms and rework entrances for $13,981.25; Imagine Edgenuity content for $7,350.00 to support special and alternative education; Mohawk Carpet material purchases for $17,732.45; Country Boy Flooring installation for $18,582.24; Juzyk Construction door replacements and lock installations for $38,590.02; and Schultz Lawncare's 2026 fertilizer and application services for $7,647.50.

Motions were moved and seconded as recorded in the meeting minutes; roll-call votes were recorded for each contract and all passed. One abstention was recorded on the Cardinal Construction furniture purchase and one abstention on the lawn care approval.

The approvals authorize staff to proceed with vendor scheduling and installation; the board did not attach additional conditions in the public minutes. Implementation timing and contract administration will follow the district's procurement practices and any vendor-specific timelines.

The board met earlier in the evening for routine consent business and later addressed personnel and policy items before adjourning.
