During the July 7 meeting of the Athens-Clarke County Board of Elections and Voter Registration, Elections Director Pam Long presented the June 2026 Activity Report, summarizing registration statistics, one open records request and several departmental items of note.
Long reported the department completed its June risk-limiting audit with "100% accuracy," and she said the Public Service Commissioner District 3 recount held June 24 resulted in no changes. Long also provided staffing updates: interviews for a vacant Elections Assistant position were conducted June 29 and July 1, and an Elections Coordinator vacancy has been posted with applications accepted through July 19.
The board recorded that four members of the public provided comments during the public-comment portion of the meeting; the speakers were not named on the record. Procedural business at the start and close of the meeting included adoption of the agenda, approval of the June 16 minutes and a motion to adjourn, all of which passed unanimously.
The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 11 at 4:30 p.m. at 2555 Lexington Road.
