Planning staff said DelDOT has a near‑final design that includes a 10‑foot shared pathway on the west side and 5‑foot sidewalks on the east side, with construction expected either this fall or next spring, and that the town plans to continue sidewalk connections within town limits to Route 26.
Fallon said he typically bikes to work and described safety concerns; councilors responded that sidewalk projects on Woodland and Central avenues are underway and that connectivity would improve once DelDOT’s work and the town’s sidewalk extensions are complete.
Council encouraged the resident to follow DelDOT planning and noted town staff will continue sidewalk improvements inside the municipal boundary.
