Jennifer told the advisory board the county is the host community for the Stand Up Rural America conference (July 28–30) and encouraged members to register; she said she would email itinerary and registration links.
She also described a regional business resource tour on Aug. 7 at the Suwannee Valley Electric SBDC building in Live Oak (2:30–5 p.m.). The packet she placed on members’ desks lists participating organizations, including CareerSource, Florida Commerce, the Florida Chamber, Department of Agriculture, the Department of Environmental Protection, DOT, SBDC, SBA and VISIT Florida. Jennifer said the event is free and designed to provide one‑on‑one access to agencies and programs that help small businesses.
Staff asked the board to share the event with the county’s business retention and expansion network and said Chamber contacts would also help promote attendance. Members agreed the events provide useful networking and information for local businesses.
