North Fond du Lac board approves painting contract for Yellowstone Trail Park caboose

The Village of North Fond du Lac Board of Trustees voted June 1 to award a $5,200 contract to Duley Painting to repaint the historic caboose at Yellowstone Trail Park and authorized up to $7,000 from the Parks Capital Fund to cover the contract and up to $1,800 in window repairs.
Administrator Nick Leonard told trustees the village had struggled to find a painter at a reasonable rate and that Trustee Mike Will arranged a meeting with Duley Painting, which previously painted the engine at Lakeside Park. Leonard said the village requested Outdoor Rec. to consider covering $5,200 of the work and was awaiting a decision.
Trustee John Duffy moved to approve awarding the proposal to Duley Painting for $5,200 and to authorize up to $7,000 from the Parks Capital Fund for the project. Trustee Mike Will seconded the motion; the board voted 4–0 to approve it.
The authorization covers the contract and allows up to an additional $1,800 for window repairs if needed. The board did not provide further details on the Outdoor Rec. funding timeline during the meeting.
The project is funded from the village Parks Capital Fund, subject to Outdoor Rec. approving its portion. The board’s approval permits staff to complete contracting and proceed with scheduling the repainting work.
The board then moved on to other business and later convened in closed session to discuss EMS billing vendor matters.
