The Norton Shores City Council unanimously approved the proposed Fiscal Year 2027 budget at its May 4 meeting. City Clerk Rachel Pavlich certified the April 26, 2026 publication of the budget notice and the council held a public hearing at which no members of the public spoke.
The vote came after Council Member Hylland moved to approve the FY2027 budget as presented; Council Member Kasher supported the motion and it carried unanimously. The approval adopts the city’s spending plan for the coming fiscal year and follows the statutorily required publication and hearing process.
City Clerk Rachel Pavlich certified the publication that triggered the hearing; no public testimony was received. After the vote, City Administrator Anthony Chandler thanked the mayor and council for approving the annual budget and noted that staff spent the year preparing budget materials.
Council members did not record reservations on the budget during the meeting. The council will implement the budget beginning with the new fiscal year as set by city procedure.
