Council postpones Solar Ordinance review to July meeting to evaluate late additions

Councilman Ellis asked that the council table the proposed Solar Ordinance until the July 8 meeting to allow time to review late additions to the draft. Mayor Rok agreed and said the Town should consider regulation, not prohibition, of pole-mounted solar given the provisions of the Wyoming Solar Rights Act. The council did not take further action on the ordinance at the work session and will revisit it at the July meeting.
Other planning items noted at the work session included a request from Stephen Allen to review the Star Valley Ranch overlay and provide feedback by August 1 and a variance application for 522 Walnut Drive that the Planning and Commission Board will consider on June 18; the applicant revised the project from an accessory/guest house to an office/shop accessory building to comply more closely with ordinance rules.
Next steps: the Solar Ordinance will be on the July 8 agenda for further review; the Planning and Commission Board will consider the 522 Walnut Drive variance on June 18.
