At the June 10 session Councilman Toolson read a resolution to appoint Jamie Herd to the position of Town Clerk and moved to appoint her. Councilman Bitter seconded the motion.
Councilman Merrill said he would like a fraud assessment completed prior to appointing the new Town Clerk and moved to table the appointment. Mayor Rok disagreed with Merrill, noting Merrill had not raised these concerns earlier in the workshop meeting and arguing the appointment should proceed. The council voted to appoint Jamie Herd: Councilman Bitter, Councilman Toolson, Councilman Ellis, and Mayor Rok voted in favor; Councilman Merrill opposed.
The appointment was recorded as carried. The transcript does not show a formal statement by Jamie Herd during the meeting beyond the resolution and the vote.
