Fire captain reports zero Rockville calls in May; REMS team deployed to Idaho

Captain Raynold Day of Springdale Fire Station #49 briefed the Rockville council on June 10 about recent call volumes and staffing. He reported Rockville had zero emergency calls in May, Springdale recorded 40 calls and Zion National Park recorded nine.
Day said the district has handled 15 incidents recently and noted that the REMS team has been deployed to Idaho for the last two weeks; he expects the team to return next week but cautioned they may be redeployed. He also said wildfire season has kicked off and reminded residents of heightened risk.
Mayor Leach thanked Capt. Day and district staff for their service. No council action was required.
