King City authorizes transfer of multimodal transit center pre-construction services to TAMC

The King City Council on June 23 authorized staff to finalize and execute agreements to transfer pre-construction design and engineering services for the King City Multimodal Transit Center to the Transportation Agency for Monterey County (TAMC).
Community Development Director Doreen Liberto introduced the item and described the proposed assignments and assumption agreement. Andy Cook of TAMC addressed the council and said he looked forward to collaborating on the project. The council voted to authorize the City Attorney to approve the final Pre-Construction Design and Engineering Services Assignments and Assumption Agreement and to authorize the City Manager to sign the final agreement.
The motion passed with votes from Mayor Mike LeBarre, Mayor Pro Tem Carlos DeLeon, Councilmembers Carlos Victoria and Oscar Avalos; Councilmember Rob Cullen was absent. No public opposition was recorded during the meeting.
The transfer delegates pre-construction responsibilities to TAMC under an assignment and assumption framework; the council action authorized final legal and administrative signatories to complete the transfer.
