King City adopts assessments for unpaid refuse bills and Riverview Gardens maintenance

The council adopted a resolution to levy unpaid refuse and recycling charges transferred from Waste Management for service invoices dated Jan. 1–Dec. 1, 2025, and approved the Riverview Gardens Landscape Maintenance District assessment for FY 2026–27 (Resolution No. 2026-5092). At the June 23 meeting, the King City Council adopted resolutions ordering the levy and collection of assessments related to unpaid refuse and recycling billing and for the Riverview Gardens Landscape Maintenance District.
Mayor Mike LeBarre opened a public hearing on a list of unpaid billing accounts transferred to the City from Waste Management for refuse and recycling collection services invoiced Jan. 1, 2025, through Dec. 1, 2025. Liz Hall, representing Waste Management, thanked the city for its cooperation and provided information about how Waste Management could be reached for account questions. With no further public comment, the mayor closed the hearing and the council adopted the resolution approving the list and ordering assessments to be levied on the properties that received the service.
Separately, City Manager José Arreola introduced the Annual Assessment Report for the Riverview Gardens Landscape Maintenance District. No members of the public spoke on the Riverview Gardens item; the council adopted Resolution No. 2026-5092 approving the final engineer's report and ordering collection of assessments for fiscal year 2026–27 under the Landscaping and Lighting Act of 1972.
Both measures were approved by the council members present; Councilmember Rob Cullen was absent from the vote.
