King City Council approves consent agenda, advances ADU ordinance

Councilmember Carlos Victoria moved to approve consent items A through I; Councilmember Oscar Avalos seconded. The council recorded affirmative votes from Mayor Mike LeBarre, Mayor Pro Tem Carlos DeLeon, Councilmembers Carlos Victoria and Oscar Avalos. Councilmember Rob Cullen was absent.
Among the items approved was the second reading of an ordinance that repeals and replaces Title 17, Chapter 17.47 of the King City Municipal Code to regulate the development of accessory dwelling units (ADUs). The ordinance text was read by title into the record as part of the consent package. The consent agenda also included approval of the city check register for June 1–15, 2026; special meeting and closed-session minutes; an SB1 funding project list for fiscal year 2026–27; a resolution removing Planning Commissioner Margarita Lopez; award of the golf course rehabilitation project; and an amendment to the agreement with Teichert Construction.
The council did not discuss substantive amendments to the ADU ordinance during the consent vote. The ordinance proceeds per the standard second-reading process included on the consent calendar.
The council adjourned its session at 7:17 p.m.
