President J.R. Ward opened the meeting and the public hearing; no members of the public spoke. The council amended the agenda to add items for the Highway Department, the Transfer Station and a presentation from Rick Anderson of Veregy. The amendment passed on a 6-0 vote.
The council approved Resolution 2026-12, transferring $3,000 within the Recorder’s General Fund budget from 'Part Time Deputy-Project' to 'Part-Time Admin.' It approved Resolution 2026-13, moving $143,101.20 within the Highway Department Local Road and Street Fund from 'Grant Match' to 'Culvert District 1.' The council also approved Ordinance 2026-74, an additional appropriation of $1,053.78 for the Soil and Water District to cover a 3% salary increase, and Ordinance 2026-75, an additional appropriation of $155,303.00 in the Mental Health General Fund for miscellaneous disbursements. Resolution 2026-16 transferred $6,050.00 within the Transfer Station Fund from Disposal Fees to the Transfer Station Manager line. All motions recorded carried by a 6-0 vote.
Rick Anderson of Veregy presented a packet responding to earlier council questions and outlined several package options for the county to consider. No formal action on the Veregy material was taken during the meeting; the presentation was entered into the record.
Treasurer Gabbard reported approximately $100,000 in interest income for May, which he described as the highest amount he has seen. Auditor Jennifer Rode Hamelman corrected a prior statement made at an earlier meeting, saying the General Fund balance referenced should have been reported as $3 million rather than $300,000.
The council approved corrected minutes from Jan. 13, 2026, regular minutes from May 12, 2026, and Salary Ordinance 2026-005A. Council adjourned after completing business.
